Body-Heat Furniture by Visual Reference Studio

‘thermochromatic’ furniture

Have you ever experience the furniture that changes its shades with the variation in the body temperature of the person sitting over it? I am sure you haven’t as the furniture hasn’t yet hit the market.

The great minds behind the concept are Erin Hayne and Nuno Gonçalves Ferreira. Known as ‘thermochromatic’ furniture, an array of stools, chairs and other household furnishings is available with the similar functionality. Governed by the body-heat, the appearance of the resultant shades on the furniture is interesting. A mere touch can show its effects leaving temporary marks behind in the form of complementary colors.

But within minutes, furniture gains its original form inviting people to play with its features. Called “The Swamp Collection” by Visual Reference Studio, the form of the furniture is enthused by the flora and fauna of the Mississippi cypress swamp, the vicinity of the studio. These exclusive fittings would hit the market in the coming 4-6 weeks. No news about its price.
