Samsung’s BD-UP5000: World’s First Blu-Ray/HD DVD Player

Samsung’s BD-UP5000

Another invention by Samsung! This time they are geared to beat all the high-definition players by offering-the BD-UP5000, their first-ever Duo HD player.

Competent to play both Blu-ray and HD DVD at 1080p at between 24 and 60fps, the player beats the first HD player offering by LG-the BH100 as it is attuned with both BD Java and Hdi unlike LG. It also supports Dolby Digital 7.1, Digital Plus and True HD. The built-in Hollywood Quality Video system offers a theater experience at par.

The BD-UP5000 player will hit the UK market in Q4. Other expected third generation Blu-ray players include the BD-P2400 at top-end, BD-P1400 (at entry-level) and the HT-BD2 (world’s first Blu-ray home cinema system). These three products would be available for sale by the end of October.
