NW-A919 Touch Screen Player

The latest offering of a Walkman from Sony, “NW- A919″ holds up to 16GB of flash memory and a 2.4-inch, 320 x 240 pixel display. But you are an unfortunate if you aren’t residing in Japan. Measuring 86.8 × 48 × 12.3-mm, the gadget assists ATRAC together with non-DRMed WMA and AAC, MP3, and linear PCM audio playback with SonicStage doing the sync work back to your PC. The gadget is complemented with unique anti-noise headphones and a battery that offers it a life-span of 6 hours on TV and 36 hours of audio.

NEC Unveils World’s Fastest Vector Supercomputer

Right from 1970s, renowned computer giants viz. NEC, Fujitsu and Hitachi in Japan and IBM, Intel and SGI in the U.S. have been making efforts to produce the most powerful computer, calculated in terms of gigaflops and teraflops and finally it is here.

NEC has carved eye-catching laurels to its name by offering a new computer for the supercomputer club. Identified as SX-9 model, this claims to be the “world’s fastest vector supercomputer” present in the market. Its USP include unbeatable processing of 839 teraflops, and vector performance of more than 100 gigaflops per single core.

Devised for the advanced usage in the sciences, this model can be used for weather forecasting, aerospace, to check the changes in environment. The Supercomputer would be exhibited at the Supercomputing 2007 expo in Reno, Nevada scheduled next month. No information about its price is available. The company claims to have sold around 1,000 supercomputers in the SX series.

Japan electronic giant, Sony exhibits its prototype model of 11-inch (above) wide SVGA (1,240 x 600-pixel) and 27-inch (below) full high-definition (1,920 X 1,080 pixel) organic light emitting diode (OLED) at the company’s exhibition in Tokyo.

OLED display enjoys an edge over conventional LCD display as it consumes less power and doesn’t need hind light to work, thus assuring longer usage if it is mechanized from a battery. This paper-thin next generation TV is expected to hit the Tokyo market by the end of 2007.
